Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Felix Montay ran back to his position shaking his head. Federico Demesio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Felix Montay's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Montay in the 19th minute of play forced Estudiantes de La Plata's goalkeeper Federico Demesio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Efrain Jon fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored C.S.D Catalina's protests and gave Efrain Jon a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to C.S.D Catalina getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Efrain Jon hit a great ball. Filomeno Blasi charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Filomeno Blasi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Estudiantes de La Plata's Reynaldo Vincent got a free kick in the 63rd minute. 64 minutes into the match, C.S.D Catalina's Alfredo Sadurni broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Felix Montay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Federico Demesio having to interfere. In the 74th match minute, C.S.D Catalina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Efrain Jon to maneuver through the defense. During the 76th minute of the match Efrain Jon completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Efrain Jon a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 77 played minutes C.S.D Catalina got a freekick which was hit by Efrain Jon. After a defensive mix-up in C.S.D Catalina's zone, German Henrico stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gogo Ponc came out of the goal and German Henrico tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Romeo Ladio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Federico Demesio having to interfere. Felix Montay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Romeo Ladio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Romeo Ladio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Federico Demesio having to interfere. If Ciriaco Tallia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Norberto Medardo kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. C.S.D Catalina were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
