If Rodrigo Elequemedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cayetano Joanes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ernesto Poncio in the 6th minute of play. Teofilo Fe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 12 played minutes Gauchos de Boedo got a freekick which was hit by Rafael Pancho. Cayetano Joanes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Epifanio Shantala, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Ernesto Poncio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gauchos de Boedo's supporters rose to their feet, but Ernesto Poncio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cayetano Joanes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Paolo Bastian showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teofilo Fe in the 22nd minute of the match. Atlético Tacú's Cayetano Joanes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernesto Liher in the 27th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Rodrigo Elequemedo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cayetano Joanes was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Gauchos de Boedo's Ernesto Liher got a free kick in the 34th minute. Cayetano Joanes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodrigo Elequemedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 39th minute, Ernesto Poncio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cayetano Joanes was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. The crowd rose to their feet as Atlético Tacú's Teofilo Fe slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Paolo Bastian. That made the score 1-1 after 46 minutes of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 62nd minute, Epifanio Charro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Paolo Bastian was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Paolo Bastian showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teofilo Fe, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Federico Sazon took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 71st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Paolo Bastian. Gauchos de Boedo's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Rodrigo Elequemedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Atlético Tacú's Epifanio Brun got a free kick in the 78th minute. Rodrigo Elequemedo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Cayetano Joanes made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Epifanio Shantala got free with Cayetano Joanes in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Ernesto Poncio came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Gauchos de Boedo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ernesto Poncio couldn't finish the play. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
