But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlos Mateus couldn't finish the play. Epifanio Charro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Pascual Ospin made a huge save. In the 25th minute, Carlos Mateus got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Pascual Ospin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Epifanio Charro in the 27th minute of play. Carlos Mateus could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Pascual Ospin made a huge save. Carlos Mateus kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 35thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Artaud FC's keeper Pascual Ospin was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. Carlos Mateus might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pascual Ospin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Carlos Mateus ran back to his position shaking his head. Carlos Mateus could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Pascual Ospin made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfonso Urki in the 46th minute of play forced Atlético Tacú's goalkeeper Cayetano Joanes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 48th minute, Bonifacio Vedillo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cayetano Joanes was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Severo Hechter made the kick off in the second half. Severo Hechter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pascual Ospin having to interfere. In the 59th match minute, Atlético Tacú was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Severo Hechter to maneuver through the defense. Atlético Tacú's Cayetano Joanes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Atlético Tacú from getting a goal against them. Juan Frutos kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Epifanio Charro in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pascual Ospin saved Artaud FC from getting behind. Cayetano Joanes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alfonso Urki went, in the 72nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. In the 81st minute, Severo Hechter got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 83rd minute of the match Delmar Haritzeder shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Pascual Ospin showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Pascual Ospin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Severo Hechter's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. Severo Hechter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Pascual Ospin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arsenio Olivar took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 92nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Pascual Ospin. Artaud FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Severo Hechter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Carlos Mateus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Atlético Tacú lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
