Spectators: 6419 (Terracing: 5419, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Alfredo Kauldi started the match with the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Andres Nuñez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sao Caetano's supporters rose to their feet, but Andres Nuñez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Laureano Domiku breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Andres Nuñez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 15th minute, Amancio Elivareo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Laureano Domiku was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. When Paulino Aurre came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the C. A. Independiente fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulino Aurre couldn't finish the play. Hector Taurino stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of German Gartxot's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. After recieving a nice pass, Sao Caetano's Aldo Arano tried to score from far away in the 28th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. If German Gartxot had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some careless play in the Sao Caetano defense, Alfredo Kauldi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hector Taurino. The Sao Caetano fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hector Taurino should have stopped the shot. In the 42nd minute, German Gartxot left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The C. A. Independiente fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. 46 minutes into the match, Sao Caetano's goal looked a bit too open when German Gartxot came free, but Hector Taurino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Andres Nuñez made a kick off. Paulino Aurre came free with the goalkeeper in the 56th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Hector Taurino could save by the left post. In the 70th minute the ball was on its way in behind C. A. Independiente's goalkeeper Laureano Domiku, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Laureano Domiku came out of the goal in the 72nd minute to try and stop a shot by Sao Caetano's Amancio Elivareo. But to his dismay, Amancio Elivareo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. If German Gartxot had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Alfredo Kauldi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hector Taurino was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. Alfredo Kauldi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Hector Taurino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hector Taurino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredo Kauldi in the 85th minute of play. After a rather tough play, C. A. Independiente's Fabricio Hondo got a free kick in the 87th minute.
