The supporters of Trapalcó booed when the shield was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diego Calvino didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Mauro Fresco came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Trapalcó fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mauro Fresco couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in the shield's zone, Julian Cordera stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Javier Eduino came out of the goal and Julian Cordera tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mauro Fresco in the 45th minute of play forced the shield's goalkeeper Javier Eduino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hermengildo Chale to make the kick off. If Hermengildo Cuartio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Julian Cordera got free with Javier Eduino in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Javier Eduino made an important save on a dangerous shot by Julian Cordera in the 74th minute. Raimundo Beltran hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match.
