After 10 minutes of play, Giant Killing's Laureano Senio made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dario Maidana was left in no man's land by his defense there! 13 minutes into the match, Fitarruín AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Laureano Senio came free, but Dario Maidana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Giant Killing's Laureano Senio in the 15th minute got a chance for a shot 15th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The supporters of Giant Killing booed when Fitarruín AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcelo Jenaro didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 33rd minute, Albino Isadore hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fabio Rubio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jean-Charles Graffin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. Remigio Costante hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Laureano Senio in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dario Maidana prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 43 minutes into the game, Giant Killing's Anastasio Aresti nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dario Maidana made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. A collision led to Giant Killing getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Osvaldo Demario hit a great ball. In the 48th minute, Apolo Ticho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Laureano Senio made the kick off in the second half. Fitarruín AFC's Dario Maidana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Osvaldo Demario in the 53rd minute of play. Remigio Costante hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Apolo Ticho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Jean-Charles Graffin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Remigio Costante got his second yellow card in the match during the 65th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 65th minute, Remigio Costante hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 74th minute, Anastasio Aresti left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Giant Killing fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. A collision led to Fitarruín AFC getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Anastasio Rencio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Jean-Charles Graffin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In a very dangerous position, a player in Giant Killing fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 93rd minute. Penalty! After having played for 97 minutes, Apolo Ticho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fitarruín AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Apolo Ticho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Giant Killing supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Giant Killing would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
