In the 20th match minute, Alicante FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silvestre Guillerme to maneuver through the defense. After 25 played minutes Alicante FC got a freekick which was hit by Silvestre Guillerme. In the 27th minute of the match Celestino Sabin sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Emanuel Gelmiro skillfully saved the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Guaraní AFC's Abel Urtsin got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Benito Jerrold had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alicante FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Benito Jerrold was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Benito Jerrold in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Emanuel Gelmiro prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
