Nestor Mederi kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. Romulo Santio was a little too slow when Delmar Egoi got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 5th minute. The score was now 1-0. Arturo Fresco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Emanuel Gelmiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Ovidio Aguirre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Arturo Fresco came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the San Lorenzo de Almagro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arturo Fresco couldn't finish the play. If Ovidio Aguirre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edgard Quirze recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Delmar Egoi in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Romulo Santio saved San Lorenzo de Almagro from getting behind. If Delmar Egoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Arturo Fresco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emanuel Gelmiro having to interfere. Romulo Santio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Delmar Egoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Gonzalo Aznar hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Emanuel Gelmiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ovidio Aguirre in the 54th minute of the match. Ovidio Aguirre was extremely unlucky when he, in the 56th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Generoso Chabier kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. An unexpected shot in the 60th minute by Arturo Fresco got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 63rd match minute, Alicante FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roque Guerrero to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Alicante FC booed when San Lorenzo de Almagro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Delmiro Caetano didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, San Lorenzo de Almagro's Eulalio Cordarin got a free kick in the 69th minute. After recieving a nice pass, Alicante FC's Generoso Chabier tried to score from far away in the 70th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The supporters of San Lorenzo de Almagro booed when Alicante FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filomeno Enaut didn't get a good kick on the ball. 74 minutes into the match, Alicante FC's goalkeeper Emanuel Gelmiro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arturo Fresco. After 76 minutes of play, Alicante FC's Edgard Quirze made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Romulo Santio was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ovidio Aguirre might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Emanuel Gelmiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ovidio Aguirre ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind San Lorenzo de Almagro's goalkeeper Romulo Santio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in San Lorenzo de Almagro's zone, Edgard Quirze stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Romulo Santio came out of the goal and Edgard Quirze tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alicante FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of San Lorenzo de Almagro for a fine match.
