Ovidio Aguirre started the match with the kick off. Arturo Fresco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Julian Aires tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind Heckos's goalkeeper Julian Aires, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorge Louis in the 11th minute of play forced San Lorenzo de Almagro's goalkeeper Romulo Santio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. San Lorenzo de Almagro's Romulo Santio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mauro Hitzeder in the 12th minute of play. The supporters of Heckos booed when San Lorenzo de Almagro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aurelio Iraunkor didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Jorge Louis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. San Lorenzo de Almagro's Arturo Fresco got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Arturo Fresco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arturo Fresco in the 31st minute of play forced Heckos's goalkeeper Julian Aires to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Heckos's Julian Aires got control of the ball when Arturo Fresco tried to sneak it across the goal line. Oscar Etxekopar kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Julian Aires made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ovidio Aguirre in the 38th minute of play. Mauro Hitzeder recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 41 minutes, Jorge Louis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Heckos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jorge Louis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Julian Aires showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ovidio Aguirre in the 44th minute of the match. When Arturo Fresco came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the San Lorenzo de Almagro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arturo Fresco couldn't finish the play. Jorge Louis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Romulo Santio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mauro Hitzeder stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With his leg Romulo Santio managed to avoid a goal in the 61stth minute, when Heckos's Jorge Louis fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 64 played minutes Heckos got a freekick which was hit by Oscar Etxekopar. San Lorenzo de Almagro's Romulo Santio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save San Lorenzo de Almagro from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arturo Fresco in the 74th minute of play forced Heckos's goalkeeper Julian Aires to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Ovidio Aguirre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Diego Peruxu was shown his second yellow card after 79 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 80th minute, Diego Peruxu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Heckos defense, Arturo Fresco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julian Aires. The Heckos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julian Aires should have stopped the shot. In the 91st minute Ovidio Aguirre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julian Aires saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ovidio Aguirre took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julian Aires. Julian Aires dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. After having played for 98 minutes, Arturo Fresco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. San Lorenzo de Almagro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arturo Fresco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. San Lorenzo de Almagro were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Heckos for a fine match.
