But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edgard Berart couldn't finish the play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Amador Quico showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eleuterio Cordareo, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Eleuterio Cordareo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amador Quico having to interfere. If Romulo Sanchez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Comunidad de Pituseros's defense didn't have a chance, in the 59th minute, when Baldomero Galo scored to the left of an out of position Feliberto Lluques, making the score, 0-1. A collision led to Comunidad de Pituseros getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Norberto Esquipula hit a great ball. The Herrera supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Herrera would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
