In the 8th minute, Juan Caetano left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Chenaut fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Chacarita AFC's zone, Juan Caetano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dario Ferrando came out of the goal and Juan Caetano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Domingo Illart fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Justo Atarratze having to interfere. Juan Caetano struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Dario Ferrando didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chenaut. Orlando Dodorol's late challenge caught a Chenaut's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Orlando Dodorol helped the player get up and apologised. After 31 played minutes Chacarita AFC got a freekick which was hit by Orlando Dodorol. Dario Ferrando showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joaquin Amor in the 34th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joaquin Amor in the 36th minute of play forced Chacarita AFC's goalkeeper Dario Ferrando to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 38th minute of the match Osvaldo Gabon shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dario Ferrando showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Domingo Illart who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 42ndth minute tested the skills of Justo Atarratze when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When Domingo Illart came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Chacarita AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Domingo Illart couldn't finish the play. After the first half Chenaut were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joaquin Amor to make the kick off. If Martin Iratzeder had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Justo Atarratze made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martin Iratzeder in the 55th minute of play. Domingo Illart's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Justo Atarratze read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. Domingo Illart received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Justo Atarratze tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martin Iratzeder in the 66th minute of play forced Chenaut's goalkeeper Justo Atarratze to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 71st minute, Joaquin Amor left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Chenaut fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Dario Ferrando showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joaquin Amor, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. In the 80th minute Joaquin Amor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dario Ferrando saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Chacarita AFC defense, Joaquin Amor kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dario Ferrando. The Chacarita AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dario Ferrando should have stopped the shot. Pastor Gonsalve hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Domingo Illart received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Justo Atarratze tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Martin Iratzeder fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Justo Atarratze having to interfere.
