To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 25 minutes into the match, Duchaja's goal looked a bit too open when Nereo Gombal came free, but Romulo Saturnin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 26th minute, Nereo Gombal left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. When Humberto Lucero fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Duchaja's protests and gave Humberto Lucero a yellow card for diving instead. After 48 played minutes Duchaja got a freekick which was hit by Humberto Lucero. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Higinio Azubeli was the one to do the kick off. If Higinio Azubeli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
