The supporters of Club Atlético Lanús booed when Ataliva was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christian Havier didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcelino Austin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Petruț Spirache in the 17th minute of play. 23 minutes into the match, Ataliva's goal looked a bit too open when Petruț Spirache came free, but Marcelino Austin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 24 minutes, Amadeo Chan took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Marcelino Austin to make any attempt to save it. Fernan Ilixo's late challenge caught a Ataliva's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fernan Ilixo helped the player get up and apologised. In the 27th minute, Fernan Ilixo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Petruț Spirache struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Marcelino Austin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Atlético Lanús. 35 minutes into the match, Ataliva's goalkeeper Marcelino Austin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Amadeo Chan. Fabricio Lain received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Marcelino Austin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Amadeo Chan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcelino Austin was relentless in the 43rd minute of the game. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Petruț Spirache couldn't finish the play. After 60 minutes of play, Club Atlético Lanús's Fabricio Lain made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marcelino Austin was left in no man's land by his defense there! Marcelino Austin came out of the goal in the 84th minute to try and stop a shot by Club Atlético Lanús's Petruț Spirache. But to his dismay, Petruț Spirache quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. Cirilo Loreto struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Marcelino Austin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Atlético Lanús. Marcelino Austin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Petruț Spirache, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 7-0 became the score in the 96th minute when Petruț Spirache elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Club Atlético Lanús fully deserved thier win.
