The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Victor Jobo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Oscar Jeraldo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Sixto Abastas made a huge save. In the 27th minute, Benedicto Rufo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Soto fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Evelio Hotz struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Santos Oro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Soto. The corner led Soto's Gonzalo Eduino to fire away a dangerous shot which Santos Oro despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Evelio Hotz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Quequén FC's Victor Jobo got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

57 minutes had been played when some careless play by Quequén FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gonzalo Eduino was slow to take the kick. During this time Soto's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Gonzalo Eduino almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Quequén FC's Santos Oro did a great save. In the 64th minute, Ignacio Tibalt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Benedicto Rufo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Santos Oro having to interfere. In the 72nd minute Evelio Hotz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Santos Oro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 73 minutes, Haroldo Todor mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Quequén FC and the Soto players grew even worse after the yellow card. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Soto walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
