The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rafael Valiente during the 3rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abelardo Euloxu in the 7th minute of play forced Dennehy AFC's goalkeeper Abel Xacintu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Bicentenario FC's Ceferino Sidoro got control of the ball when Marcial Quintana tried to sneak it across the goal line. 17 minutes into the match, Dennehy AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Abelardo Euloxu came free, but Abel Xacintu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Abelardo Euloxu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abel Xacintu having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Dennehy AFC's zone, Lorenzo Lehior stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Abel Xacintu came out of the goal and Lorenzo Lehior tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Abelardo Euloxu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dennehy AFC's Domingos Manuelo got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lorenzo Lehior's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Abel Xacintu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. Marcial Quintana could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Ceferino Sidoro made a huge save. Abel Xacintu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lorenzo Lehior, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. After a defensive mix-up in Dennehy AFC's zone, Abelardo Euloxu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Abel Xacintu came out of the goal and Abelardo Euloxu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Abel Xacintu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lorenzo Lehior in the 45th minute of play. If Domingos Manuelo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Abel Xacintu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Abelardo Euloxu in the 60th minute. In the 62nd minute, Lorenzo Lehior reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Abel Xacintu. The goal made the score 0-1. After having played for 66 minutes, Marcial Quintana managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dennehy AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcial Quintana was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abelardo Euloxu got free with Abel Xacintu in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 71 played minutes Bicentenario FC got a freekick which was hit by Lorenzo Lehior. Domingos Manuelo scored 1-1 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ceferino Sidoro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Domingos Manuelo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Lorenzo Lehior managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bicentenario FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Lorenzo Lehior was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Abel Xacintu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 82 minutes into the match, Abelardo Euloxu notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Dennehy AFC's Abel Xacintu. Abel Xacintu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Bicentenario FC booed when Dennehy AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abel Cordero didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lorenzo Lehior received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Abel Xacintu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Bicentenario FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Bicentenario FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
