The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Carolina FC's Edgardo Mark got a free kick in the 2nd minute. Candido Policarpio kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. 9 minutes into the game, one of Carolina FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 10th minute there was a penalty for Sánchez. Eduardo Galo stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Gaston Gau. 1-0. Dante Jerold fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gaston Gau having to interfere. Edgardo Mark sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 18th minute Eduardo Galo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gaston Gau saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 21 minutes into the match, Everardo Tonete dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Gaston Gau, 2-0. After 26 minutes, Gilberto Erramun mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Carolina FC and the Sánchez players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 26th minute, Gilberto Erramun hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 28th play minute Everardo Tonete came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Gaston Gau. 3-0. After a rather tough play, Carolina FC's Edgardo Mark got a free kick in the 32nd minute. An unexpected shot in the 36th minute by Everardo Tonete got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Sánchez's Nicanor Urtats played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Candido Policarpio in the 40th minute of play. When Carolina FC's Candido Policarpio in the 41st minute got a chance for a shot 41st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. With a left leg Nicanor Urtats saved Sánchez from getting behind. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

52 minutes in the game, Tobias Patxi fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Nicanor Urtats having to interfere. When Carolina FC's Candido Policarpio in the 54th minute got a chance for a shot 54th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sánchez's goalie prevented a goal. In the 57th minute Eduardo Galo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gaston Gau saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gaston Gau came out of the goal in the 60th minute to try and stop a shot by Sánchez's Everardo Tonete. But to his dismay, Everardo Tonete quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Candido Policarpio in the 64th minute of play forced Sánchez's goalkeeper Nicanor Urtats to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 65 minutes into the match, Sánchez's goal looked a bit too open when Candido Policarpio came free, but Nicanor Urtats reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Everardo Tonete struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Gaston Gau didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sánchez. An unexpectedly hard shot by Everardo Tonete in the 73rd minute of play forced Carolina FC's goalkeeper Gaston Gau to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Everardo Tonete received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Gaston Gau tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 77th minute, Candido Policarpio made a precise shot to the right of Nicanor Urtats. Sánchez's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. Everardo Tonete sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Sánchez getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Isidro Silban hit a great ball. Candido Policarpios short, quick shot in the 94thth minute got Nicanor Urtats to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Sánchez's Nicanor Urtats proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 97th minute of the match, managed to save Sánchez from getting a goal against them. There was no doubt that Sánchez were the better team. Sánchez's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
