The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Andres Mikeldi couldn't finish the play. 21 minutes into the match, Arequito AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Rene Pabla came free, but Conrado Abaunza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arequito AFC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Osvaldo Andrea in the 43rd minute of play forced Bonpland's goalkeeper Laureano Pere to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bonpland's Silvestre Astrada got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rene Pabla was the one to do the kick off. Silvestre Astrada sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Osvaldo Andrea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Laureano Pere having to interfere. 71 minutes into the match, Bonpland's goal looked a bit too open when Osvaldo Andrea came free, but Laureano Pere reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 72 minutes into the match, Arequito AFC's goalkeeper Conrado Abaunza had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Silvestre Astrada. Raul Elequemedo kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Bonpland defense, Osvaldo Andrea kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Laureano Pere. The Bonpland fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Laureano Pere should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Osvaldo Andrea managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arequito AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Osvaldo Andrea was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Laureano Pere breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Osvaldo Andrea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Andres Mikeldi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Laureano Pere tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
