The supporters of Yupandú FC booed when Gonzalez Catan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Artemio Gonsalve didn't get a good kick on the ball. Yupandú FC's Severino Lucero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leon Salamon in the 12th minute of play. After having played for 15 minutes, Lino Laurendi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Yupandú FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lino Laurendi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 18thth minute of the game Rodrigo Bero who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Yupandú FC's Severino Lucero was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Emanuel Tolino got free with Baldomero Oidor in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rodrigo Bero in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Severino Lucero prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodrigo Bero in the 34th minute of play forced Yupandú FC's goalkeeper Severino Lucero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Severino Lucero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leon Salamon in the 48th minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lino Laurendi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Leon Salamon cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Severino Lucero was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Leon Salamon's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 56thth minute, Severino Lucero skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 68th match minute, Gonzalez Catan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Esteve Horado to maneuver through the defense. Baldomero Oidor came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by Yupandú FC's Lino Laurendi. But to his dismay, Lino Laurendi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. 78 minutes into the game, Artemio Gonsalve was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gonzalez Catan's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Yupandú FC the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Gonzalez Catan fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 78th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Yupandú FC a penalty, 80 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Hugo Quinito, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Gonzalez Catan's Baldomero Oidor. 2-2. If Leopoldo Eusko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Esteve Horado kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. In the 90th minute Lino Laurendi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baldomero Oidor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leon Salamon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Justo Louis charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Justo Louis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 94th minute, Justo Louis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 97 minutes, Leon Salamon took a quick shot and it went in 2-3 without a chance for Severino Lucero to make any attempt to save it. Gonzalez Catan played a much better game than Yupandú FC and deserved their victory. The Yupandú FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
