Rodrigo Bero ran back to his position shaking his head. Rodrigo Bero's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gilberto Matro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. Leon Salamon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gonzalez Catan's Leon Salamon got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Redonditos de Riquelme's Paolo Santo got a free kick in the 19th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodrigo Bero in the 21st minute of play forced Redonditos de Riquelme's goalkeeper Gilberto Matro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leon Salamon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Gilberto Matro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gilberto Matro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leon Salamon in the 26th minute of play. Marcelino Soter kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Gilberto Matro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leon Salamon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 38 minutes into the game, Leon Salamon cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Gilberto Matro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Gonzalez Catan getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Marcelino Soter hit a great ball. Manuel Sagrario, 48 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rodrigo Bero to make the kick off. Leon Salamon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilberto Matro having to interfere. Gilberto Matro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodrigo Bero, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Gonzalez Catan's Rodrigo Bero slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gilberto Matro. That made the score 0-2 after 64 minutes of play. After a defensive mix-up in Redonditos de Riquelme's zone, Leon Salamon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gilberto Matro came out of the goal and Leon Salamon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 69th minute, Rodrigo Bero got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Leon Salamon could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Gilberto Matro made a huge save. After 72 minutes of play Gonzalez Catan's Marcelino Soter was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. A collision led to Gonzalez Catan getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Marcelino Soter hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Hernan Nofre managed to get in a good position for a shot. Redonditos de Riquelme's supporters rose to their feet, but Hernan Nofre was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Baldomero Oidor breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 76 played minutes Gonzalez Catan got a freekick which was hit by Rodrigo Bero. In the 80th match minute, Gonzalez Catan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leon Salamon to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Leon Salamon's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gilberto Matro was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. Manuel Sagrario charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Manuel Sagrario the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 89th minute, one of Redonditos de Riquelme:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Redonditos de Riquelme. When the match had been going on for 91 minutes, Gonzalez Catan's Artemio Gonsalve got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Gilberto Matro. In the 95th match minute, Redonditos de Riquelme was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alvaro Hegoi to maneuver through the defense.
