The Gimnasia y Esgrima Mdza fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fernan Playo should have stopped the shot. Gimnasia y Esgrima Mdza's Florentino Bernabel got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fernan Playo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lino Laurendi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aaron Turi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Severino Lucero having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Gimnasia y Esgrima Mdza players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Yupandú FC.
