Placido Stephen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gogo George having to interfere. Augusto Petri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from John Remesal, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. After some careless play in the shitanemFC defense, Simon Odon kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gogo George. The shitanemFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gogo George should have stopped the shot. 28 minutes into the match, Azcurra AFC's goal looked a bit too open when John Remesal came free, but Augusto Petri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Azcurra AFC's Simon Odon got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gogo George was left in no man's land by his defense there! Narciso Ignatius made in the 42nd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Matias Miro however managed to control. Augusto Petri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from John Remesal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Azcurra AFC's Augusto Petri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by John Remesal in the 47th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
