Melquiades Aureo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teo Quiroga in the 4th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Teo Quiroga in the 4th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Melquiades Aureo saved Sportivo Ave Fenix from getting behind. In the 7th minute, Roberto Lucila hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marcelo Galoer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eleuterio Azubeli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 10th minute Teo Quiroga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Melquiades Aureo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Melquiades Aureo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teo Quiroga, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Alberto Montez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Marcelo Galoer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Osvaldo Eutropio hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. After 24 minutes of play, Leeds United's Teo Quiroga made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Melquiades Aureo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Melquiades Aureo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Moises Jobo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Leeds United's zone, Eleuterio Azubeli stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcelo Galoer came out of the goal and Eleuterio Azubeli tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alberto Montez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Marcelo Galoer made a huge save. Melquiades Aureo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Moises Jobo's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. The Sportivo Ave Fenix players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Leeds United were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Teo Quiroga was the one to do the kick off. After some careless play in the Sportivo Ave Fenix defense, Moises Jobo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Melquiades Aureo. The Sportivo Ave Fenix fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Melquiades Aureo should have stopped the shot. Leeds United's Marcelo Galoer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eleuterio Azubeli in the 56th minute of play. During the 56th minute of the match Edelmiro Precioso completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Edelmiro Precioso a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 57th match minute, Leeds United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edelmiro Precioso to maneuver through the defense. Amadeo Gau kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Eleuterio Azubeli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelo Galoer having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Teo Quiroga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Leeds United's supporters rose to their feet, but Teo Quiroga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Melquiades Aureo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Moises Jobo's late challenge caught a Sportivo Ave Fenix's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Moises Jobo helped the player get up and apologised. 75 minutes in the game, Eleuterio Azubeli dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Melquiades Aureo made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Teo Quiroga sent off a good shot on target. Marcelo Galoer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Montez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcelo Galoer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eleuterio Azubeli in the 82nd minute of the match. Sportivo Ave Fenix's Melquiades Aureo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teo Quiroga in the 84th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Leeds United's zone, Eleuterio Azubeli stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcelo Galoer came out of the goal and Eleuterio Azubeli tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Melquiades Aureo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teo Quiroga in the 88th minute of the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Leeds United eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
