Albino Lidon made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After a defensive mix-up in La Piedra's zone, Maicon Rosado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Albino Lidon came out of the goal and Maicon Rosado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Union de Santa Fe's Gavino Heli got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Albino Lidon was a little too slow when Gavino Heli got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 73rd minute. The score was now 0-4. Union de Santa Fe's Martin Cordero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Angel Lucero in the 77th minute of play. Martin Cordero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julio Vedillo in the 81st minute of play. Maicon Rosado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Albino Lidon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gavino Heli struck a weak shot in the 86th minute.
