The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 6th minute Hilario Adrio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anibal Xacintu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Anibal Xacintu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hilario Adrio in the 11th minute of the match. Eduardo Eufemio hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Carlos Benino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Anibal Xacintu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hilario Adrio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 24 minutes, Carlos Benino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fcgesell's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlos Benino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 27th minute of the match Haroldo Osoro sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Anibal Xacintu skillfully saved the ball. 29 minutes into the match, Luanco's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Benino came free, but Anibal Xacintu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alejo Cruz kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Camilo Tipi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vinicio Eguzki having to interfere. In the 39th minute Camilo Tipi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vinicio Eguzki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Camilo Tipi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carlos Benino to make the kick off. Hilario Adrio struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Anibal Xacintu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fcgesell. After 54 played minutes Fcgesell got a freekick which was hit by Hugo Orixe. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Carlos Benino in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Anibal Xacintu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Carlos Benino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Anibal Xacintu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hilario Adrio in the 62nd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Carlos Benino in the 65th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Anibal Xacintu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Camilo Tipi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hilario Adrio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Anibal Xacintu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 76th minute by Hilario Adrio got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. When Amancio Tibalt fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Luanco's protests and gave Amancio Tibalt a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Fcgesell booed when Luanco was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amancio Tibalt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fcgesell's Vinicio Eguzki played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eduardo Eufemio in the 79th minute of play. Albino Matia took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 81st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Anibal Xacintu. Luanco's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 82 played minutes Luanco got a freekick which was hit by Alejo Cruz. Carlos Benino struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Anibal Xacintu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fcgesell. Cleto Tauro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Carlos Benino came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Fcgesell fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlos Benino couldn't finish the play. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
