Primitivo Cilio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Efrain Cordarrell in the 18th minute of the match. Carlos Espiridion was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 19 minutes into the match. 18 minutes into the game, one of Club Atlético River Plate:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Primitivo Cilio had in the 21stth minute some difficulties stopping Hernan Lorien's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. If Efrain Cordarrell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 29 minutes into the match, Rodrolina FC's goal looked a bit too open when Mauricio Ayala came free, but Angel Atarratze reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 30th minute, Eriberto Rocio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mauricio Ayala took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Angel Atarratze. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rigoberto Euloxu in the 40th minute of play forced Rodrolina FC's goalkeeper Angel Atarratze to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mauricio Ayala fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Angel Atarratze having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After a rather tough play, Club Atlético River Plate's Rigoberto Euloxu got a free kick in the 53rd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Patricio Miro during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Rodrolina FC booed when Club Atlético River Plate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. That made the score 0-8 after 80 minutes of play. 84 minutes into the match, Club Atlético River Plate's Mauricio Ayala sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Angel Atarratze narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Rodrolina FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Club Atlético River Plate the free kick. Rodrigo Mikeldi hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Club Atlético River Plate played a much better game than Rodrolina FC and deserved their victory. The Rodrolina FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
