Salvador Pitin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomás Sayvion, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Tomás Sayvion might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Salvador Pitin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomás Sayvion ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Artigal FC booed when Sauce was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Artemio Raymond didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 37th minute, Hector Florin sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Sauce's Fausto Quinten didn't even have to move. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Fausto Quinten didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Humberto Ugaitz went, in the 51st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Humberto Ugaitz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fausto Quinten having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Teodoro Adrio got free with Fausto Quinten in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 70 minutes into the game, Santiago Balendin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Salvador Pitin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Cipriano Miro's late challenge caught a Sauce's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cipriano Miro helped the player get up and apologised. Salvador Pitin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomás Sayvion, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 77th minute Santiago Balendin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Salvador Pitin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Teodoro Adrio fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Artigal FC's protests and gave Teodoro Adrio a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Artigal FC getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Teodoro Adrio hit a great ball. Santiago Balendin struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Salvador Pitin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sauce. If Humberto Ugaitz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fausto Quinten made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Humberto Ugaitz in the 89th minute of play. Tomás Sayvion sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 96th minute, Humberto Ugaitz fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Fausto Quinten, passed just outside the right post. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
