In the 47th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bompland's goalkeeper Rodolfo Pero, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vicente Richie to strike the kick off in the second half. Rodolfo Pero was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Igor Abadie got free with Rodolfo Pero in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 96 minutes into the match, Basilio Artaldo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lisandro Raulo. Racing Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Basilio Artaldo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3.
