After a defensive mix-up in Boca juniors's zone, Igor Abadie stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Prudencio Lop came out of the goal and Igor Abadie tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With an all-out effort, Boca juniors's Lisandro Raulo threw himself towards the right post 18 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Antonio Goren, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 19thth minute of the game Antonio Goren who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Racing Club's Lisandro Raulo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 22 played minutes Racing Club got a freekick which was hit by Victor George. Victorino Hurko came free with the goalkeeper in the 23rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Lisandro Raulo could save by the left post. When Eugenio Harri fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Racing Club's protests and gave Eugenio Harri a yellow card for diving instead. Eugenio Harri kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Feliciano Dabi struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Lisandro Raulo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Boca juniors. Victorino Hurko came free with the goalkeeper in the 34th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Lisandro Raulo could save by the left post. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Racing Club's goalkeeper Lisandro Raulo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Victorino Hurko could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Lisandro Raulo made a huge save. Antonio Goren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lisandro Raulo having to interfere. In the 39th play minute Victorino Hurko came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Lisandro Raulo. 1-0. Racing Club's Lisandro Raulo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Racing Club from getting a goal against them. Victorino Hurko succeeded in the game's 46th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vicente Richie stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Racing Club's Lisandro Raulo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Victorino Hurko in the 56th minute of play. After 59 minutes, Antonio Goren made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. Racing Club's Lisandro Raulo tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antonio Goren in the 63rd minute of play forced Racing Club's goalkeeper Lisandro Raulo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 70th minute the ball was on its way in behind Boca juniors's goalkeeper Prudencio Lop, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Lisandro Raulo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antonio Goren in the 91st minute of play. Antonio Goren might have been able to make a better finish in the 94th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lisandro Raulo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Antonio Goren ran back to his position shaking his head. 96 minutes into the game, Victorino Hurko cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Lisandro Raulo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
