After 9 played minutes Racing Club got a freekick which was hit by Godofredo Tallia. 13 minutes into the match, Racing Club's goal looked a bit too open when Ricardo Medero came free, but Lisandro Raulo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Igor Abadie scored 1-1 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Teofilo Gartzi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Cavour's zone, Igor Abadie stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Teofilo Gartzi came out of the goal and Igor Abadie tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Igor Abadie was extremely unlucky when he, in the 26th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Igor Abadie's late challenge caught a Cavour's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Igor Abadie helped the player get up and apologised. Igor Abadie hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Racing Club's Lisandro Raulo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Faustino Ekain in the 37th minute of play. Vicente Richie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Teofilo Gartzi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ricardo Medero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lisandro Raulo having to interfere. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ricardo Medero to make the kick off. When Efrain Peruxu fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Racing Club's protests and gave Efrain Peruxu a yellow card for diving instead. Ricardo Medero was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 55th minute. Cavour's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Racing Club's Lisandro Raulo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricardo Medero in the 56th minute of play. If Faustino Ekain had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Faustino Ekain struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Lisandro Raulo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cavour. Teofilo Gartzi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vicente Richie, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Igor Abadie managed to get in a good position for a shot. Racing Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Igor Abadie was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Teofilo Gartzi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Racing Club's Vicente Richie in the 73rd minute got a chance for a shot 73rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cavour's goalie prevented a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vicente Richie in the 75th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Teofilo Gartzi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Cavour's Ricardo Medero in the 78th minute got a chance for a shot 78th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Racing Club's goalie prevented a goal. Ricardo Medero was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 92nd minute. Cavour's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Delmiro Elia charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Delmiro Elia the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 97 played minutes Cavour got a freekick which was hit by Delmiro Elia. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
