After a rather tough play, C A MADERENSE's Efrain Benvide got a free kick in the 4th minute. In the 9thth minute of the game Justo Clodio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but C A MADERENSE's Filomeno Garcia was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Justo Clodio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vanguardia's supporters rose to their feet, but Justo Clodio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Filomeno Garcia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Gaston Aznaro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 24th match minute, Vanguardia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Simon Tono to maneuver through the defense. When Clodoveo Roano fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vanguardia's protests and gave Clodoveo Roano a yellow card for diving instead. Vanguardia's Julio Matei proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Vanguardia from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gaston Aznaro in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Matei prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Carolo Bordat received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Julio Matei tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carolo Bordat recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gaston Aznaro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Julio Matei tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carolo Bordat sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Fabio Blasco made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 53 minutes, Gaston Aznaro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C A MADERENSE's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gaston Aznaro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gaston Aznaro in the 55th minute of play forced Vanguardia's goalkeeper Julio Matei to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carolo Bordat might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Matei. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Carolo Bordat ran back to his position shaking his head. Justo Clodio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Filomeno Garcia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabio Blasco in the 72nd minute of play. Fabio Blasco received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Filomeno Garcia came out and tried to block the shot, but Fabio Blasco slotted it home off the left post making it 0-1 in the 81st minute. Carolo Bordat fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Matei having to interfere. If Carolo Bordat had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vanguardia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave C A MADERENSE the free kick. In the 96th minute, Bruno Illart hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eustacio Paublo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 97th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Julio Matei. Vanguardia's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Vanguardia walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
