In the 11th minute, one of Clarke:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Clarke. Isidro Precioso made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Aristides Abarca sent off a good shot on target. 28 minutes into the game, Arnoldo Balesio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Clarke's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Acuña the free kick. In the 28th match minute, Clarke was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arnoldo Balesio to maneuver through the defense. In the 31st minute, Rosendo Castel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 32nd match minute, Acuña was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Robustiano Jaen to maneuver through the defense. 35 minutes had been played when some careless play by Acuña's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Arnulfo Abadia was slow to take the kick. During this time Clarke's players had a chance to rest. Clarke's Roberto Xabier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Victorio Leizarraga in the 36th minute of play. Arsenio Berenguer scored 2-2 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Roberto Xabier, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Aristides Abarca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rosendo Castel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Isidro Precioso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

After a rather tough play, Clarke's Freddy Rico got a free kick in the 51st minute. Roberto Xabier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victorio Leizarraga in the 53rd minute of play. Isidro Precioso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aristides Abarca, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Florencio Constancio charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Florencio Constancio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 62 played minutes Acuña got a freekick which was hit by Florencio Constancio. 64 minutes into the match, Acuña's goal looked a bit too open when Rosendo Castel came free, but Isidro Precioso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Arnoldo Balesio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rosendo Castel blasted a shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Isidro Precioso having to make a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Arsenio Berenguer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Acuña's supporters rose to their feet, but Arsenio Berenguer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roberto Xabier breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Clarke's Freddy Rico got a free kick in the 75th minute. A collision led to Clarke getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Arnoldo Balesio hit a great ball. The long shot by Pablo Quinton in the 78th minute really tested Roberto Xabier's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The referee felt a red card was in order, 79 minutes into the game, when Pablo Quinton put in a rough tackle. In a very dangerous position, a player in Acuña fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 79th minute. Penalty! If Rosendo Castel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Isidro Precioso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rosendo Castel in the 88th minute of the match. In the 90th minute Rosendo Castel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isidro Precioso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Isidro Precioso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aristides Abarca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
