Domingos Erramun kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. In the 38th match minute, Club Nacional de Fútbol was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rosendo Gaskon to maneuver through the defense. Venancio Ilixo took the ball and in the 41 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nestor Quinito. When Humberto Barrionuevo came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Febre fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Humberto Barrionuevo couldn't finish the play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Melquiades Victoro made a kick off. The supporters of Club Nacional de Fútbol booed when Febre was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulino Milian didn't get a good kick on the ball. Club Nacional de Fútbol's Hector Belmiro couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute. If Venancio Ilixo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Venancio Ilixo struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Nestor Quinito didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Nacional de Fútbol. When Club Nacional de Fútbol's Melquiades Victoro in the 63rd minute got a chance for a shot 63rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Domingos Erramun's late challenge caught a Club Nacional de Fútbol's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Domingos Erramun helped the player get up and apologised. In the 71st minute, Domingos Erramun hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Melquiades Victoro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Febre's Nestor Quinito proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Febre from getting a goal against them. After 78 played minutes Club Nacional de Fútbol got a freekick which was hit by Higinio Cordarin. After a defensive mix-up in Febre's zone, Venancio Ilixo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nestor Quinito came out of the goal and Venancio Ilixo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. During the 88th minute of the match Domingos Erramun completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Domingos Erramun a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 89th minute, Domingos Erramun hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Venancio Ilixo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Nestor Quinito made a huge save. Venancio Ilixo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nestor Quinito having to interfere. Febre succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Club Nacional de Fútbol had controlled the match.
