After 4 minutes, Ezequiel Gonza mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Independiente and the Cogollum players grew even worse after the yellow card. Fabio Naelio placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jonatan Porfiro during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Cleto Raymon could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Sixto Hurko made a huge save. Cleto Raymon struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Sixto Hurko didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Independiente. In the 16th minute, Teofilo Misael hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arnoldo Perfecto, 17 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. An unexpected shot in the 23rd minute by Lázaro Haitz got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cleto Raymon in the 26th minute of play forced Cogollum's goalkeeper Sixto Hurko to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Atilano Dominguez hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Lázaro Haitz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sixto Hurko having to interfere. In the last second Sixto Hurko throw himself and got hold of the ball when Cleto Raymon in the 33rdth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Independiente's Cleto Raymon got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Justo Tibalt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amadeo Efraim in the 39th minute of play. Justo Tibalt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Atilano Dominguez in the 41st minute of the match. When Matias Frasco fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cogollum's protests and gave Matias Frasco a yellow card for diving instead. Lázaro Haitz might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sixto Hurko. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lázaro Haitz ran back to his position shaking his head. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

If Lázaro Haitz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Cogollum getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Raimundo Haritz hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Cogollum's zone, Cleto Raymon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sixto Hurko came out of the goal and Cleto Raymon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 59 minutes into the game, Lázaro Haitz cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Sixto Hurko was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 63 minutes into the match, Cleto Raymon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sixto Hurko. Cogollum's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cleto Raymon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Cleto Raymon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Independiente's supporters rose to their feet, but Cleto Raymon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sixto Hurko breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Cogollum's zone, Zacarias Salvadore stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sixto Hurko came out of the goal and Zacarias Salvadore tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lázaro Haitz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Sixto Hurko tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Justo Tibalt was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Atilano Dominguez showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-1 in the 89 minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Independiente's zone, Amadeo Efraim stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Justo Tibalt came out of the goal and Amadeo Efraim tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Cogollum players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Independiente.
