The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Atilano Orlo during the 2nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 3 played minutes Viamonte FC got a freekick which was hit by Atilano Orlo. Bernardino Shepherd could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Anibal Buinton made a huge save. Zeledon Silban sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristobal Ovando in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Anibal Buinton saved Bahía Roji-Blanca from getting behind. Genaro Guter hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Bahía Roji-Blanca's zone, Natalio Eztebe stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anibal Buinton came out of the goal and Natalio Eztebe tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zeledon Silban in the 29th minute of play forced Viamonte FC's goalkeeper Braulio Figueroa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Genaro Guter shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Zeledon Silban sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Braulio Figueroa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zeledon Silban in the 38th minute of the match. In the 42nd minute Cristobal Ovando shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anibal Buinton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristobal Ovando fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anibal Buinton having to interfere. In the 48th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bahía Roji-Blanca's goalkeeper Anibal Buinton, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cristobal Ovando stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute of the match Atilano Orlo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Anibal Buinton showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Bahía Roji-Blanca's Anibal Buinton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernardino Shepherd in the 54th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristobal Ovando in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Anibal Buinton saved Bahía Roji-Blanca from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Abel Mon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bahía Roji-Blanca's supporters rose to their feet, but Abel Mon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Braulio Figueroa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Bahía Roji-Blanca booed when Viamonte FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Julian Domingues didn't get a good kick on the ball. Abel Mon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Zeledon Silban sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Anibal Buinton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristobal Ovando, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Braulio Figueroa came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by Bahía Roji-Blanca's Abel Mon. But to his dismay, Abel Mon quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Benicio Donzel's late challenge caught a Bahía Roji-Blanca's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Benicio Donzel helped the player get up and apologised. In the 91st match minute, Viamonte FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benicio Donzel to maneuver through the defense. Zeledon Silban fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Braulio Figueroa having to interfere. Abel Mon's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Braulio Figueroa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. Bahía Roji-Blanca's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
