An unexpectedly hard shot by Zeledon Silban in the 72nd minute of play forced Ciénaga's goalkeeper Arnaldo Gergori to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Abel Mon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Zeledon Silban received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Arnaldo Gergori tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Severiano Etxeberri came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Ciénaga fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Severiano Etxeberri couldn't finish the play. 88 minutes into the game, Zeledon Silban cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Arnaldo Gergori was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Bahía Roji-Blanca fans cheered their team off the field, for while Ciénaga had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
