Abelardo Cresitobalo was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Sebastian Dacio. After 39 played minutes Rosas FC got a freekick which was hit by Clodoveo Tolino. In the 44th minute, River Plate's Fernando Matei ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Abelardo Cresitobalo. Abelardo Cresitobalo yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fernando Matei stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of River Plate booed when Rosas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clodoveo Kauldi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rosas FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
