The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Matungos F.C. booed when FC Pirañas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hugo Musko didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arturo Iturri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 9 minutes into the match, FC Pirañas's goal looked a bit too open when Arturo Iturri came free, but Wilfredo Tino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the FC Pirañas defense, Esteban Aguirre kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wilfredo Tino. The FC Pirañas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wilfredo Tino should have stopped the shot. 23 minutes into the match, Delmar Walme had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Wilfredo Tino. FC Pirañas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Delmar Walme was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Arturo Iturri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Wilfredo Tino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 30 minutes of play, Matungos F.C.'s Arturo Iturri made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Wilfredo Tino was left in no man's land by his defense there! Arturo Iturri took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wilfredo Tino. Wilfredo Tino dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. 37 minutes into the match, FC Pirañas's goal looked a bit too open when Arturo Iturri came free, but Wilfredo Tino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Arturo Iturri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 47th minute Arturo Iturri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilfredo Tino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-6 lead.

Matungos F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Delmar Walme was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Matungos F.C.'s Arturo Iturri slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Wilfredo Tino. That made the score 0-8 after 58 minutes of play. In the 62nd minute, Arturo Iturri made a precise shot to the right of Wilfredo Tino. FC Pirañas's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-9. Arturo Iturri took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wilfredo Tino. Wilfredo Tino dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-10. When the match had gone on for 71 minutes, Arturo Iturri put it in 0-11 from a short distance just to the right of Wilfredo Tino. Wilfredo Tino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Esteban Aguirre, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Wilfredo Tino was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Arturo Iturri showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-12 in the 78 minute of play. Timoteo Dino's late challenge caught a FC Pirañas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Timoteo Dino helped the player get up and apologised. In the 86th match minute, Matungos F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Timoteo Dino to maneuver through the defense. 89 minutes into the game, Matungos F.C.'s Arturo Iturri nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Wilfredo Tino made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-14. Wilfredo Tino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arturo Iturri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wilfredo Tino was a little too slow when Arturo Iturri got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 94th minute. The score was now 0-15.
