Background FC's Ruben Otoniel got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Rufina FC getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Jose Misael hit a great ball. Horacio Cutberto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guaberto Sesuldo in the 19th minute of the match. If Ermanno Piacentini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 25th minute of the match Sebastian Bittor shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Octavio Cordera showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Ruben Otoniel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Iordache Melentie's late challenge caught a Rufina FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Iordache Melentie helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Background FC's Iordache Melentie got a free kick in the 30th minute. In the 33rd minute, Luisito Mambru got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Ruben Otoniel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Background FC booed when Rufina FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Denis Llorienzo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Octavio Cordera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Armin Ursini, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Luisito Mambru managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rufina FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Luisito Mambru was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Horacio Cutberto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 41 minutes of play, Rufina FC's Luisito Mambru made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Horacio Cutberto was left in no man's land by his defense there! Marco Aurre fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Octavio Cordera having to interfere. Octavio Cordera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emilio Incantalupi in the 47th minute of play. After the first half Background FC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Emilio Incantalupi made the kick off in the second half. Emilio Incantalupi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Octavio Cordera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ruben Otoniel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ruben Otoniel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Octavio Cordera having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Rufina FC's zone, Emilio Incantalupi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Octavio Cordera came out of the goal and Emilio Incantalupi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rufina FC's Octavio Cordera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ruben Otoniel in the 59th minute of play. Emilio Incantalupi might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Octavio Cordera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Emilio Incantalupi ran back to his position shaking his head. Octavio Cordera made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Emilio Incantalupi sent off a good shot on target. Rufina FC's Luisito Mambru got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Background FC getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Emilio Incantalupi hit a great ball. Guaberto Sesuldo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Emilio Incantalupi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After having played for 86 minutes, Marco Aurre managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Background FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marco Aurre was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 93 minutes into the game, Emilio Incantalupi lined in a short shot 1-4 behind a frustrated Octavio Cordera. Background FC played a much better game than Rufina FC and deserved their victory. The Rufina FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
