Epuyén's supporters crossed their fingers, but Benicio Pello was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 21 minutes of play, Maggiolo AFC's Ciro Abadie made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

In the 57th minute Ramiro Bras shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorge Cucao saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Abelardo Sal was shown his second yellow card after 65 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 66th minute, Abelardo Sal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mario Adrio charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
