Alfredo Tanio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rogelio Oihenarte in the 11th minute of play. 14 minutes into the match, Los Duendes Verdes's Rogelio Oihenarte sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alfredo Tanio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Rogelio Oihenarte came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Los Duendes Verdes fans jumped to their feet. With an all-out effort, Las Cucarachas Venenosas's Hilario Argenis threw himself towards the right post 26 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Nemesio Pasqual, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Alfredo Tanio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ciriaco Etxeberri, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. But to his dismay, Ciriaco Etxeberri quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rogelio Oihenarte in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alfredo Tanio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Benedicto Cedro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Benedicto Cedro came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Las Cucarachas Venenosas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benedicto Cedro couldn't finish the play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nemesio Pasqual to strike the kick off in the second half. After 51 minutes, Eleuterio Natanael mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Los Duendes Verdes and the Las Cucarachas Venenosas players grew even worse after the yellow card. Despite being the better team, Las Cucarachas Venenosas failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
