NIUPI F.C. were awarded a corner in the 10th minute after Lanús AFC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Miguel Maurin took the corner. The corner led NIUPI F.C.'s Miguel Maurin to fire away a dangerous shot which Rafael Frasco despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Edgardo Emmanuel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elpidio Ponc in the 13th minute of the match. Humberto Ricart sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Lino Sidoro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 21st minute, Filomeno Inautzi fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Rafael Frasco, passed just outside the right post. 22 minutes into the match, Lanús AFC's goalkeeper Rafael Frasco had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lino Sidoro. Lanús AFC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 22nd minute, when Lino Sidoro scored to the left of an out of position Rafael Frasco, making the score, 1-1. After a rather tough play, Lanús AFC's Niceto Cebo got a free kick in the 27th minute. Lino Sidoro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rafael Frasco having to make a save. If Filomeno Inautzi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Isaias Beliran's late challenge caught a NIUPI F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Isaias Beliran helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Lanús AFC's Isaias Beliran got a free kick in the 35th minute. Lino Sidoros short, quick shot in the 37thth minute got Rafael Frasco to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Filomeno Inautzi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 43 minutes into the game, Filomeno Inautzi lined in a short shot 2-1 behind a frustrated Rafael Frasco. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Humberto Ricart was the one to do the kick off. Humberto Ricart fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgardo Emmanuel having to interfere. Edgardo Emmanuel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Humberto Ricart, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Lanús AFC's Elpidio Ponc got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Humberto Ricart's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edgardo Emmanuel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. In the 65th match minute, Lanús AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zeledon Oton to maneuver through the defense. After 68 minutes, Norberto Stephen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lanús AFC and the NIUPI F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Lanús AFC getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Norberto Stephen hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Humberto Ricart got free with Edgardo Emmanuel in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Elpidio Ponc in the 83rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Edgardo Emmanuel, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Humberto Ricart sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rafael Frasco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lino Sidoro in the 86th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in NIUPI F.C.'s zone, Humberto Ricart stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edgardo Emmanuel came out of the goal and Humberto Ricart tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Lanús AFC players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented NIUPI F.C. from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
