Seating: 1664, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Filomeno Austin kicked off to start the match. Filomeno Austin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gilberto Estebano got free with Ermegildo Breogan in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Filomeno Austin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Diego Ascencio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Inocencio Eneas in the 32nd minute of play forced Sportivo Veletas's goalkeeper Ermegildo Breogan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sportivo Veletas:s Ermegildo Breogan showed great skill when he stopped Niceto Teodor:s penalty. 39 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sportivo Veletas's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Niceto Teodor was slow to take the kick. During this time Merayo's players had a chance to rest. Inocencio Eneas made a great header on Merayo's corner, it was just that Sportivo Veletas's Ermegildo Breogan managed to reach the ball for a save. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
Filomeno Austin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diego Ascencio having to interfere. After 57 played minutes Sportivo Veletas got a freekick which was hit by Erasmo Charro. Ermegildo Breogan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilberto Estebano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Diego Ascencio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Filomeno Austin, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. The audience was convinced that Filomeno Austin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Diego Ascencio was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. In the 65th minute, Ruperto Iyan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ermegildo Breogan came out of the goal and Gilberto Estebano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 87 minutes into the match, Merayo's goalkeeper Diego Ascencio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Artemio Leoncio. Jaime Fernado hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Merayo's zone, Saverio Lop stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Diego Ascencio came out of the goal and Saverio Lop tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Artemio Leoncio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Filomeno Austin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
