In the 7th minute Aquiles Koldo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cornelio Bernad saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 12th minute of the match, Mariano Gaspard got a very nice opportunity to score, but Cornelio Bernad was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After some careless play in the Penumbra FC defense, Mariano Gaspard kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cornelio Bernad. The Penumbra FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cornelio Bernad should have stopped the shot. After 29 minutes, Iker Mattin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Penumbra FC and the Racing Club players grew even worse after the yellow card. Iker Mattin kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. 30 minutes into the match, Penumbra FC's goalkeeper Cornelio Bernad had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mariano Gaspard. Penumbra FC's Aureliano Astudillo got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Angelo Grabiel might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gogo Azeari. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Angelo Grabiel ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Penumbra FC getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Iker Mattin hit a great ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Aureliano Astudillo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gogo Azeari having to make a save. The supporters of Penumbra FC booed when Racing Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Natalio Bizen didn't get a good kick on the ball. 56 minutes into the match, Racing Club's goalkeeper Gogo Azeari had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aureliano Astudillo. In the 57th match minute, Racing Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Epifanio Txerran to maneuver through the defense. If Aureliano Astudillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Aquiles Koldo might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cornelio Bernad. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aquiles Koldo ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind Penumbra FC's goalkeeper Cornelio Bernad, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Cornelio Bernad made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alejo Santxol in the 69th minute of play. Mariano Gaspard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Cornelio Bernad tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aureliano Astudillo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Penumbra FC's Angelo Grabiel got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rigoberto Ranolfo kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Aureliano Astudillo struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Gogo Azeari didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Penumbra FC. Penumbra FC's Cornelio Bernad played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alejo Santxol in the 97th minute of play. Racing Club's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
