An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Alfonso in the 11th minute of play forced vilmapalma's goalkeeper Arsenio Ermano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nemesio Rivas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Arsenio Ermano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 17 minutes into the match, vilmapalma's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Alfonso came free, but Arsenio Ermano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Amancio Rosario managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Atlético Alpargatas's supporters rose to their feet, but Amancio Rosario was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arsenio Ermano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 35th minute, Pedro Demesio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 46 played minutes, Club Atlético Alpargatas's Marciano Cordarin shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Arsenio Ermano came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Club Atlético Alpargatas reached it. After having played for 49 minutes, Nemesio Rivas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Atlético Alpargatas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nemesio Rivas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Casimiro Lain stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Amancio Rosario struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Arsenio Ermano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Atlético Alpargatas. Arsenio Paulin charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Arsenio Paulin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 55th match minute, vilmapalma was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arsenio Paulin to maneuver through the defense. Arsenio Ermano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Alfonso, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. After 60 played minutes vilmapalma got a freekick which was hit by Ildefonso Roderigo. The supporters of Club Atlético Alpargatas booed when vilmapalma was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Casimiro Lain didn't get a good kick on the ball. Raul Micael made an important save on a dangerous shot by Casimiro Lain in the 65th minute. Arsenio Ermano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Alfonso in the 81st minute of play. In the 83rd minute, Ildefonso Roderigo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Arsenio Ermano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ambrosio Roano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nemesio Rivas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
