Sportivo Sta Catalina's Ariel Quexal got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Leonel Unax took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ariel Quexal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Leonel Unax showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ariel Quexal in the 18th minute of the match. In the 22nd minute Ariel Quexal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonel Unax saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Primitivo Joanes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Fulgencio Venceslao tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ignacio Gaitano scored 1-1 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fulgencio Venceslao, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Filomeno Mancio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had been going on for 45 minutes, Sportivo Sta Catalina's Efrain Boniel got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Leonel Unax. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ariel Quexal to make the kick off. When Saul Michael was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 55 minutes had been played. After recieving a nice pass, Sportivo Sta Catalina's Efrain Boniel tried to score from far away in the 56th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 89th minute Filomeno Mancio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonel Unax saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Filomeno Mancio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
