Tigre's defense didn't have a chance, in the 37th minute, when Silvestre Afonso scored to the left of an out of position Cristobal Tavio, making the score, 2-2. 47 minutes into the match, Tigre's goalkeeper Cristobal Tavio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Braulio Xacintu. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ciriaco Bingen to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silvestre Afonso in the 93rd minute of play forced Tigre's goalkeeper Cristobal Tavio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A nice corner shot did that Jose Chepe got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Cristobal Tavio quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
