Teobaldo Shantala showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anselmo Caetano, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Christian Cesaro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Anselmo Caetano managed to get in a good position for a shot. La Marea Roja's supporters rose to their feet, but Anselmo Caetano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Teobaldo Shantala breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Anselmo Caetano blasted a shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Teobaldo Shantala having to make a save. After a rather tough play, La Marea Roja's Arsenio Rios got a free kick in the 23rd minute. RACING FC's Damian Santikurtz shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 24th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Faustino Cambranes but with some difficulty. La Marea Roja's Faustino Cambranes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save La Marea Roja from getting a goal against them. After 28th play minutes Anselmo Caetano shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Teobaldo Shantala and just under the crossbar into goal. Ruperto Martino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. RACING FC's Teobaldo Shantala played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ceferino Gauargi in the 36th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in RACING FC's zone, Anselmo Caetano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Teobaldo Shantala came out of the goal and Anselmo Caetano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 43rd minute Anselmo Caetano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teobaldo Shantala saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Faustino Cambranes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rogelio Beltran, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Anselmo Caetano to make the kick off. The supporters of La Marea Roja booed when RACING FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Federico Oihan didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in RACING FC's zone, Anselmo Caetano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Teobaldo Shantala came out of the goal and Anselmo Caetano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 61 minutes into the game, Anselmo Caetano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Teobaldo Shantala was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aldo Napier got free with Teobaldo Shantala in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ruperto Martino took the ball and in the 69 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Faustino Cambranes. Faustino Cambranes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Christian Cesaro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Teobaldo Shantala tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aldo Napier's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Teobaldo Shantala read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. With a little luck, RACING FC's Teobaldo Shantala got control of the ball when Anselmo Caetano tried to sneak it across the goal line. Christian Cesaro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teobaldo Shantala having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Christian Cesaro managed to get in a good position for a shot. La Marea Roja's supporters rose to their feet, but Christian Cesaro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Teobaldo Shantala breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Serafin Gaur during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Teobaldo Shantala didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Anselmo Caetano went, in the 95th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. Anselmo Caetano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teobaldo Shantala having to interfere. La Marea Roja played a much better game than RACING FC and deserved their victory. The RACING FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
