Rogelio Beltran fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardino Reynardo having to interfere. Club Atlético Lanus's Feliberto Mateo got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bernardino Reynardo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ruperto Martino in the 18th minute of the match. After 19 played minutes Club Atlético Lanus got a freekick which was hit by Jesus Porfirio. Bernardino Reynardo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ruperto Martino in the 20th minute of play. RACING FC's Damian Santikurtz was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Bernardino Reynardo in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Teobaldo Shantala made an important save on a dangerous shot by Filomeno Lopes in the 28th minute. In the 28th match minute, RACING FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gaudencio Calisto to maneuver through the defense. In the 30th minute, Basilio Manny got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Feliberto Mateo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 33rd minute, Federico Oihan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Teobaldo Shantala showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Basilio Manny, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. When Federico Oihan was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 37 minutes had been played. A collision led to RACING FC getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Federico Oihan hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Basilio Manny in the 43rd minute of play forced RACING FC's goalkeeper Teobaldo Shantala to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Basilio Manny had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Ruperto Martino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Ciriaco Modestio charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Teobaldo Shantala came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by Club Atlético Lanus's Feliberto Mateo. But to his dismay, Feliberto Mateo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Feliberto Mateo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Feliberto Mateo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Teobaldo Shantala read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play.
