Victorino Raphael charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Victorino Raphael the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Independiente FC getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Victorino Raphael hit a great ball. Gilberto Dunixi took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ariel Montel. Ariel Montel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Gilberto Dunixi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ariel Montel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 41st minute of the game. One of El Fortín de Palermo:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Independiente FC:s goal. Jonatan Furman had in the 43rdth minute some difficulties stopping Jonathan Isusko's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gilberto Dunixi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Salvador Victoro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Jonatan Furman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Gilberto Dunixi came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the El Fortín de Palermo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gilberto Dunixi couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Gilberto Dunixi managed to get in a good position for a shot. El Fortín de Palermo's supporters rose to their feet, but Gilberto Dunixi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ariel Montel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet as El Fortín de Palermo's Gilberto Dunixi slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ariel Montel. That made the score 2-2 after 74 minutes of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Urbano Guillelme in the 79th minute of play forced El Fortín de Palermo's goalkeeper Jonatan Furman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
