An unexpectedly hard shot by David Abajas in the 3rd minute of play forced Club Atlético Lanus's goalkeeper Bernardino Reynardo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 4 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Lanus's goal looked a bit too open when David Abajas came free, but Bernardino Reynardo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Club Atlético Lanus getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Carlos Mogel hit a great ball. Bernardino Reynardo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Abajas in the 8th minute of play. Basilio Manny received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Ulises Ciano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ulises Ciano made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Feliberto Mateo sent off a good shot on target. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Filomeno Camerino during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 16th match minute, Cobos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Filomeno Camerino to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Feliberto Mateo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Atlético Lanus's supporters rose to their feet, but Feliberto Mateo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ulises Ciano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bernardino Reynardo came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by Cobos's David Abajas. But to his dismay, David Abajas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 37 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Lanus's goal looked a bit too open when Manuel Galoer came free, but Bernardino Reynardo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Manuel Galoer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. David Abajas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardino Reynardo having to interfere. After 48 played minutes Cobos got a freekick which was hit by Gonzalo Klusener. After the first half Cobos were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Basilio Manny to strike the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as Cobos's David Abajas slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Bernardino Reynardo. That made the score 0-2 after 57 minutes of play. Basilio Manny sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Manuel Galoer could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Bernardino Reynardo made a huge save. After having played for 68 minutes, Manuel Galoer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cobos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Manuel Galoer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bernardino Reynardo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Manuel Galoer in the 85th minute. Cobos's Manuel Galoer got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Feliberto Mateo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Ulises Ciano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bernardino Reynardo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alfonso Bartolome in the 99th minute.
